I did not enjoy test debate because my grade was a Seventy-two and would have been 80 if you would have corrected them yourselves. It could have benefited me more if I spoke up more to make my point made. Personally I thought it would be fun but after the grade I got I beg you to grade my test Mrs. Molloy!

Test Analysis is an excellent way to improve our grades. It allows us to prove our point without trying to convince a dozen people. We only need to convince you Mrs. Molloy, that we understood the problem. Also if we get a question that you believed is right and I should have gotten credit on I still can. I only wish we wouldn't have to be that descriptive especially when our answer is really the correct one. Test analysis is a great back up for our test but if we did not have Class debates I would not need to do it again.

I did not enjoy test debate because sometimes, the whole class chooses the second best answer, and then when one person gets the question correct according to you they actually get it wrong because the class voted for the wrong answer. On the test according to the classes answer key i got 5 questiones wrong and got an 80 when if you graded it by the answers that you thought were correct i would have only gotten 3 wrong and i would have gotten an 88. When you told us that we were going to be arguing for our answers i thought it might be pretty cool but i would rather you grade our tests.

Test analysis is a god way to bring up our grades and a good way to help us with our writing. I think it is good that you allow us to earn up to full credit back, and it allows us to show why we chose our answer and what we think now. I think that we should be able to do test analysis wthout doing the test debate and then everyone would be much happier

The benefits of test debating is to see how your answers and thoughts compare to the classes. I personally did not like it as much because some of my classmates answers were completely different than my own, so I disagreed, however sometimes that did not work and the class ended up choosing the other answer. In some cases i did realize where I went wrong, which should be the whole point of this debate, but in other casses I still disagreed after the answer was decided, so I think that grading the test, and then discussing the answers would have been more helpful to me.
I do appreciate that we get a chance to do test analysis because it can benefit our grades greatly. On some of my wrong questions I understand why the majority of the class chose that answer, so I can easily write up my test analysis, but some qustions I will stick to my original, wrong answer because I truly thought and still think it is correct. Completing test analysis proves that we understand the question and answer selected, so I think we deserve to get points back after completing it. It is a great way to back up a bad test grade, and I think we should continue using it.

I also did not enjoy this test debate for many reasons because in some cases its almost like correcting the write answer. I think that for some questions people just voted for what they had so they wouldn’t have to do test analysis. I thought that when we voted, not many people changed there answers unless it was one that we weren’t voting for which was usually only 2 answers. I also would have a higher grade than what I have now if you graded it yourself.

Test analysis, I think is a good way to improve our grades and i like how we can get up to a 100 instead of just half the points back. On most test corrections it is usually half-credit back. The only thing i dislike about test analysis is that is is very long considering its 3 paragraphs per question. I agree with Robby and I think that we should be able to do test analysis without test debate. Overall though, I do like the idea of test analysis.

I did not like the test debate at all. I did not like it because sometimes the class chose the answer that was not quite the best answer. I understand the meaning of test analisys. It helps you throughly understand a question. It also helps u take in every one's point of view, and how each answer was interpertated. I think it is a really good thing that the test corrections are availavble because we can still think we have the right answer and we just need to back it up. It is also a really good idea that we can get full points back, all we need to do is prove our point to you.

-I disliked the test debate because nobody changed there answer even if they knew it was wrong. One of my answers was the correct answer and we proved it but the majority of the class had a different answer. They all voted for there answer and so i got it wrong. On another question, the kids that won the vote weren't able to say why they put that answer and that was another question i got wrong. I hope we do not have to do a test debate for every test we do.
-Test Analysis is a good way to higher our grade. The best thing about the Test Analysis is we can get full credit back but we do have to write three detailed paragraphs. We only have to prove our point to you not the class, like Bobby said. I got a seventy two on the test, but i still can get a hundred. It is going to be hard but it is pretty good to go from seventy two to a hundred.

I also did not enjoy this test debate for many reasons . First i had a 72 but it would have been a higher grade if you corrected it.I think that for some questions people just voted for what they had so they wouldn’t have to do test analysis. The other thing is that nobody changed there answer even if they knew it was wrong. I thought the test debate would be a fun thing but i would not like to do it again or for every test we have.
Test Analysis is a good way to raise our grade. Test analysis allows us to get full credit back on every answer but we have to write 3 paragraphs. I agree with Robbie when he said we should be able to do test analysis for every test weather it is a test debate or a regular test. I got a 72 on the test and i can get a 100 which is a big improvement but im going to have to do some work to earn it.

I did not enjoy the test debate for the short story test. During the debate I began to notice that it was not about the way people tried to convince the class that their answer was right. Even when I thought that I made some valid points during the debate the question went the other way to an answer that I thought was completely wrong. That’s it! Its what people think the answer is. I rather you grade us on your answers because I had good enough evidence for some of the questions that I got wrong. At first I thought it would be fun to debate against other people about if your answer is right or wrong, but afterwards I disliked the outcome.

I think that test analysis is just what people need to achieve a high grade in class. I also like how we can get full credit back! The only down fall is that it takes up a lot of time. But other than that it is very helpful.

I did not enjoy doing the test debate because I did not get the grade I think I should deserve. I think I did better because I had substantial evidence showing my answers were correct even though some of my classmates disagreed with me. I also didn’t like it because many kids just voted for their answer even if they knew it was wrong. There were also many problems because some kids acted like wise guys and they put both their hands up and voted twice. The test debate did benefit is some ways though because it showed us different answers and taught us test skills. It also made us look at things different ways and talk about the short stories in depth. I also agree with Matt W because I like the test corrections being able to get 100 even if you did badly the first time. I think that for future tests, you should grade them and we can still do the test corrections.

I did not enjoy test debate because the arguing for answers was only met by people voting for the answer they chose despite what the class said. This virtually elimnatates the entire point of the debate.I did apprecitate the chance to get the question right even if the teachers answer was something else.Another reason why I did not enjoy it as much as I could have was that I realize it is nessary to remain and speak in a civilized manner however the "debate" part was not very evident due to the fact that if you disagreed with someone, you could not interject in an ample amount of time, also that by the time that you get to speak it may be a few minutes after losing its effect on the class as a valid arguement.

Test Analysis is a great way to drastically improve our grade to the greatest extent. We are able to receive all points lost back and therefore have the oppourtunity to receive a 100.We also can take notes in class during the test debate when a debate is initiated to easily complete our analysis.

I did not enjoy test debate because from time to time the class chooses the second best answer and then when some people have the correct answer the get it wrong because the rest of the class agreed on the other answer. According to my classes answer key I got 6 wrong I f you graded it by the answers that you thought were correct I would have only gotten 4 wrong. When you told us what test debate was I thought it sounded cool and it would be a fun few days to argue on what we think the right answers would be. But after two days of doing it and already having 4 wrong I didn’t really like it anymore not because I wasn’t getting the answer that I put right but some of the answers that I got wrong were really right in your point of view.
Test analysis is a good way to bring up our grades and a good way to help us to communicate with our classmates and it also can help us with our writing techniques. I think it is good that test analysis allow us to earn back all the points that we lost, and how it allows us to show if we changed our answer or if we still strongly support the answer we first put. I think that we should be able to do test analysis without doing the test debate by using your answer key. I think it would be much easier and everyone would like it better.

I did not think that the test debate helped alot of people because alot of people failed the test due to others with bad choices. I got 66 becuase most of my answers were wrong. I think that i could have benifited my self by speaking up more but it probally would not have done anything.

Test Analysis is an excellent way to improve our grades. We really only have to convience mrs molloy and mr minz becuase they are the teachers the test/quizes should not be graded by students especially the ones who fail alot. The only reason i liked it becuase it wasted time.

I find test debate to be a little annoying. I did enjoy being able to prove my point of why I chose the answer I did but some people fought for the answer they chose when it was clearly wrong. When test debate was first explained to me I thought it was a good thing but now I find it as a bad thing. I thought it would be easier to persuade people to go with your answer.

Test analysis is a great thing though because you can correct your answer and receive full credit for it. This could help someone get from a sixty to a ninety easily. If I had a choice I would not choose to do test debate because my grade would have been an 86 instead of a 76. Though I do not like test debate I find test analysis very helpful because I can go back and see why I got that answer wrong.

I thought the test debate was okay. My first impression was that I could literally get a 100 no problem because i could still side with my answer and have it count. It was frusterating when the majority of our class would choose an answer that as it turns out, was incorrect but i got it counted wrong even though I did have the right answer. In some cases, I did change my answer after I heard the class's answers and reasons. In others though, i still strongly disagreed with the class. I would be willing to try the debates again, but only if the class had a choice, and after we saw our grades, or heard the average of them.
I do think it was benificial, although frusterating. I appreciate the chance to put in our say as individuals, and express our thoughts and reasons.

The benefits of test-debate is that you can speak out loud and speak up if you agree or or disagree. You can disagree and convince people that you are right ad to vote your answer or you can agree with what the other person said and help get the point across.

I personally didn't like doing test analysis because i got a really low grade and I don't always like to speak up in class so i didn't get to get my point across. I got a 64 and if you graded it i am not sure what i would've gotten but i am pretty sure my grade would have been higher.

I appreciate the chance to do test-analysis because that will higher my grade, not only my grade but everyone else's grade too. I agree with Briana in that test-analysis is great because you can correct your answer and receive full credit for it.

In my opinion, the test analysis was a rewarding process to some, but a disadvantage to others. The make up of the test allowed two answers to be correct in some cases which led the class to have a very heated discussion. I enjoyed the test analysis because it allowed me to understand why others felt that their answers are correct and gave me a chance to prove my point. Overall, I did very well with the test so I was pleased with the test analysis method. One disadvantage of the test analysis is that rarely people would not vote for their own answer, because they wanted to have less work. This was frustrating if you thought you had the right answer but the majority of the class didn’t think so. It still was fair because you had a chance to get all your points back if you put in the work. I agree with Tyler because he says that this is a great way to drastically improve our grade.

I REALLY LIKED THE TEST DEBATE
I liked it because you get to hear everybody’s perspective on different answers. This helped me realize what I did wrong and how I could’ve fixed it. Test debate helped me a lot and I think it really helped me. Everybody had a different reason for choosing the answer they did. It was fun to debate on which answer was correct. There were even some times that I voted for an answer that I didn’t choose because my friends proved their point so well for a different answer. I found in some questions that I could not prove my answer as correct from the text and to get an answer right there has to be some kind of evidence.
I think that Test Debate was really productive. I would stress doing it again because it was really fun.

I did not enjoy test debate because i felt that many of my answers where right but the class disagreed with me. I do understand why some of my answers are wrong but what about the other ones? I feel as though everyone just voted for their answer even if it was wrong. I also felt that i couldn’t get my reasoning out all the time and there was also more than one answers for each question.

Test analysis is an okay because you can explain why you think your answer is right. It is a good way to bring up your test grade and get full credit back. It seems easier to explain your thinking on paper and not out loud. I don’t enjoy explaining why an answer I thought was wrong is right because I don’t know what those people were thinking when they decided it. I can see why some answers are wrong but just not all of them.

Personally i did not like the test debate. I did not like it because no matter how much you raise your hand and support the answer that you think is right, you will never make your classmates change thier answer and vote for yours. They will just vote for the answer they have, just so they get it right even though they might think it is wrong. So basically it is opinion and majority rules, which i dont think is fair for a test debate.
Test analysis is great i think. However i dont think it is worth doing that much work and changing your answer to what your peers thought was the correct answer.

The benefits of debate was to see why other people got their answers and it made me think about if my answer was really the best answer. I also didn’t like the debate though because I feel that most people voted for the answer that they put so that they could get a higher grade and not have to do test analysis. By people voting for the answer they put down it effects how other people did on the test, because by voting for an answer that you put down that may not have been the best answer you could be affecting other people’s grades. I don’t really think it’s fair that we choose the correct answers. I think that we should still debate about it but we shouldn’t make the outline. I also really like the test analysis and how we can get full credit back if we have a very in depth answer because in most classes we can do extra credit but only get half the points back, and sometimes just pulling it up to a passing grade which can affect our grade a lot. The test analysis helps keep our grade up and it’s really helpful to realize what you misunderstood and what the better answer is.

Test debate was very difficult for me but also very beneficial in my opinion. I got frustrated at times when my classmates did not agree with my answers. It made me discouraged sometimes but eventually I ended up seeing their view and I agreeing with their answers. I am a pretty stubborn person and some of my classmates were able to convice me things I totally disagreed with. The debate not only told me what the correct answers were but also the reason why they were correct. If only I could think the questions through when i was actually taking the exam. I agree with Robbie G. in the way that it was sometimes unfair that I had gotten the same anwswer that Ms. Malloy got but I still got points taken off because the majority of the class got a different answer. I think I have to work on being more like a lawyer and really convince my classmates that my answer is correct, not their's.

Although test analysis were a pain they really helped me. Even after the class debate, I was still a little uneasy on the reason why the correct answer was in fact correct. Writing it down on paper and having to explain the reason why the answer was correct in my own words helped me understand it even more. Teachers always tell me to substantiate, I do forget sometimes but the test analysis was good practice for me. The test analysis took the learning process to the next level. On top of understaning the answers, they are going to help raise my grade, and I always like that! Overall the debate and test analysis was tough but nothing is really easy, and at least with this I will be able to see the results, and hopefully the rewards.

I hated this test debate even though all of your answers were pretty much the same of the classes. On future tests I really hope you do not do this again because although test analysis is very helpful it took me almost 3 hours to complete. Plus sometimes i feel like the class doesn't know what they are talking about. Sometimes the class may have the majority on an answer but it could also be wrong.

Test Analysis is a good way to improve our grades but, it was very lengthy. If there is another way to do test analysis please can we do it. I wrote four pages worth of test analysis. It will pay off in the end but I ended up not being able to do some of my other homework. I know i could have done it earlier in the week but there is so much other work to do so i left this aside. Please don't have us do this again. I agree with Tyler Paulvin because everyone just voted on what they voted for not what they thought was the correct answer .

Test debate is a very interesting type of grading system; I have never done that before. I liked to here what people say. I didn’t like it because I know I could have done better if it was just corrected for me. I mostly liked it, even though I got a bad grade. I’m glad that there are test analyses and I think it was a very fair way to grade. The people who got the answers wrong by the majority of the class, but right in the grade book still have a chance to get 100. I think this new way of a grading policy for me is different but I like it. I agree with Briana Dilluvio because she said people were fighting for an answer that was clearly wrong. I also agree with her when she said that she liked to be able to prove her point. I was very surprised when reading everyone’s blog that they all disliked the test debate.

sosaa said...

I did not enjoy test debates because you never know which answer is really the correct one even if you have the right one you might be wrong according to the class. I also think that it could be good in some ways because it also show your point of view and if your answer is wrong according to the teachers answer key you could explain the reason you choose that answer.

I think test analysis are a great opportunity to earn lost points for questions that you probably thought were right but your classmates thought it was wrong. I think that this also teaches you many new things because you can understand better the reason why you got a certain question wrong.

I think that the test-debate was pointless. Alot of the anwers the i thought were right were rong beacuse some of the people in r class gave stupid anwers. half of my anwers were right. One thing i did like about it was that i wasted alot of time. But all the ones i got wrong i had to do test analysis for and i mgot a 48 so i had to do alot because half the class is not smart and doesnt know what there talking about. If u are going to do this again u should make the test shorter.

i agree with roger that the test-analysis doest take up alot of time. But it is good if u do get all ur pionts back.

In my opinion, test debating is annoying. Although I see the benefits to this procedure, personally I did not enjoy the experience. Sometimes the majority of the class is at a different thinking level and they win because they were not able to think beyond the obvious and therefore pick the safest answers. I understand that this procedure is used in the upper grades and eventually is beneficial, but for now, I don’t agree. The key to test debating if you are sure of an answer is to be heard and then be persuasive enough to have others agree, so you don’t have a large amount of test corrections to make. The benefits are clear, we all get to see someone else’s interpretation of a particular question, quote or idea, which can sometimes change your mind and help you understand how they obtained the answer and perhaps think differently in the future. Overall, I think test debating is popular for those who like to hear themselves talk, right or wrong. Unfortunately, some of us pay the price with lower grades or extensive corrections to make.

The obvious benefit of test debating is being able to make any and all necessary corrections to earn full credit. This exercise is attractive and beneficial to the student with the right or wrong answer. Although test debating was not enjoyable for me, the results don’t affect your grade as long as you make all necessary corrections. Therefore, if test debating is what will prepare us for college and the future, and my grade in English remains over 90, then test debating is the way to go.

Anonymous said...

Test debate can be both a bad and good experience for some people. I personally did not like doing it. For those people who have a hard time speaking up in class, they most likely suffered. But even if you do speak up, some people only chose certain answers so that it would make less work for them, and not because it was the correct answer and in turn, the people who actually got the answer correct need to work harder. Test Debates are also beneficial in a way, when you DO get an answer wrong, you can understand why it is wrong.

Test analysis definately makes up for the test debate. You can receive back all of the credit that you lost, and instead of just being told what is wrong, you have a chance to correct it and understand it so you can know how to approach that kind of question on another test.

In my opinion, I really enjoyed the test debate because it was a way to let me show my opinion on the question in front of the whole class. There is one thing bad about this, its a big waste of time I think because the other people in our class just stuck to what they wrote down because they didn’t want to do the test analysis and that made me angry because they didn't have good evidence when i felt that i did. I would love to do this again in the future.

I really like the test analysis because it gives us a chance to get full credit back for the questions I got wrong. Although it's a very long hard process I'm happy that i can raise my bad grade up to a 100 if I do all my work. Thanks.

The benefits of the test debate was to see things from other peoples point of view. I got to listen to many of my classmates support their answers and explain why it was the best answer. I did'nt like the test-anaylisis as much because it was a lot of work and I felt like I was just repeating myself over and over again. Although it was long and a lot of work, I thought it was fair because we are able to gain all of our points on the test back.

I agree with Matt Walker about the fact that many kids didnt want to listen to their classmates and just voted for what they had on their test. They only cared about getting a good grade and not needing to do test-anaylisis.

I actually enjoyed doing the test debate. I always liked arguing for things i thought was right. In the end the outcome was good, i got and 84. Though many people got bad greades, most of them complain when they don't speak up during class. If they wanted their answer to be right, then they should have said something. I know that there are a couple of people that say they don't like it, but they didn't speak-up during the debates, thats them being hypocrites. Even if i didn't get a good grade, I liked speaking up for what i thought what was the right answer. Though people mayh have chosen the right answer, they didn't find support for their answer, so then the second best answer got chosen.

Test Analyses is a good process to do to get your grades up, but i think it's a lot of work. I think it's way too long to do. Though it does benefit you, it takes about 30 minutes for just one question. I think that Test Debate and Test Analyses was a great way to use for the test, because then you get to see everybody elses point of view
